What can the free trial do?
Everything in design mode, with no time limit: it opens the example projects (and new, empty ones), and in them you can draw, import vectors and images, model 3D reliefs, make every toolpath, and watch the 3D simulation. It cannot save anything (projects, G-code, exports, sheets), print the setup sheets, send a job to a machine, or open project files other than the examples. The example projects are also in the store, free, so you can see what they contain.
How do I switch the trial into the full program?
Buy a licence, then open Help › Licence… in Carvio and sign in with your carviocnc.com account: the app fetches the licence by itself. Or paste the key from the email, or load the .carviolicense file. Nothing to reinstall; the project you are working on stays open and can now be saved.
What is the licence, exactly?
A small signed file: your name, the major version it covers, the number of seats and the date, signed by Carvio. The app holds only the public key and checks the signature itself, so it never needs to phone home and keeps working if this web site vanishes. You get it as a key to paste and as a .carviolicense file.
How many computers?
2: typically the shop PC and the laptop you design on. The licence shows your name in the About box, the title bar and the setup sheets.
What happens at version 2.0?
Your licence keeps working in every 1.x release forever. A 2.x licence is a separate purchase at an upgrade price, and it also runs 1.x, so you can roll back. Anyone who buys shortly before 2.0 ships gets 2.x free.
Can I move it to a new PC?
Yes. Enter the same key on the new machine; stop using it on the old one. Lost the key? Have it re-sent.
Refunds?
Within the period on the refund page, no questions asked; the licence is then revoked.
Schools, resellers, reviewers?
Write to us: licences can be issued by hand for a class or a review.
